Embroidery on Everything – A BERNINA Embroidery Program

Ready to get more out of your Bernina or Bernettte embroidery machine? Join us for Embroidery on Everything, a program designed to help you expand your embroidery skills and discover just how many creative possibilities your machine offers. 

Each month we’ll focus on a new technique, material, or type of project while completing a fun embroidery sample or small project. Along the way you’ll learn practical tips for stabilizers, hooping methods, specialty accessories, and embroidery designs so you can confidently stitch on a wide variety of fabrics and ready-made items.

Throughout the year we’ll explore embroidery on everything from traditional cotton fabrics to items like towels, bags, garments, and more. You’ll also learn techniques that add dimension, texture, and personality to your projects.

The workshop includes professionally produced lessons from Bernina in the Bernina Skill Hub, along with design files, written instructions, and supply guidance for each monthly project. In class, we’ll discuss the monthly techniques and spend time stitching so you can practice with guidance and get answers to your questions. (The Bernina Skill Hub resources alone are a $300 value!)

What You’ll Learn

Over the course of the year we’ll explore a wide variety of embroidery skills, including:

• Choosing the right stabilizer for different fabrics and projects

• Hooping techniques for tricky materials and ready-made items

• Decorative appliqué and layered embroidery

• In-the-hoop construction techniques

• Embroidering on towels, bags, and home décor items

• Garment embroidery on T-shirts and other apparel

• Tips for working with specialty fabrics and textures

• How to achieve professional-looking results with your embroidery machine

Whether you’re new to machine embroidery or looking for fresh inspiration, this program will help you build skills month by month while connecting with a community of fellow embroidery enthusiasts. By the end of the year, you’ll have a collection of samples, new techniques in your toolbox, and the confidence to embroider on almost anything.

We will kick off the program in our classroom space and you are welcome to bring your own machine. Future lessons will take place in our Sewing Machine Room and we will do demonstrations on our store machines.

SUPPLY LIST: We will provide a monthly stabilizer kit and quilting cotton for each project. Optional supplies, as well as suggested machine accessories, will be listed on the monthly supply list (you will get these the prior month).

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Classes taught by local instructors:
You may cancel up to 14 days before the class date to receive a store credit. Cancellations made within 14 days of the class are not eligible for store credit.

Classes taught by national or out-of-town instructors:
You may cancel up to 30 days before the class date to receive a store credit.

Can’t attend?
You are welcome to send a friend in your place. This is completely acceptable and encouraged.

If The Cotton Patch cancels a class:
You will receive a refund or, if you prefer, a store credit for the class fee.
